ONE OF HIS VICTIMS

Dr. George Witzhoff, of New York, or any other city for that matter, is the champion bigamist of the world, this modern Blue Beard having been married more than sixty times.

In last Sunday's St. Louis Globe-Democrat we note that a Bonne Terre woman, who has made her home at this place for a couple of years, is listed among Witzhoff's victims. The following appeared in the G-D:

"One of the alleged wives of Albert Witzhoff, the modern New York Bluebeard is a Mrs. Pauline Smith, a woman peddler, whose post office address is the general delivery at Bonne Terre, Mo., and who is said to own property at Kirkwood, Mo. Mrs. Smith's inquires about her husband, all trace of whom she lost at Chicago during the summer of 1902, elicited the information that he had a step brother living in St. Louis, a dentist, who has an office on Wash street between Eight and Ninth. This step-brother, it is said, so closely resembles Witzhoff that he often has been mistaken for the husband of Mrs. Pauline Smith."

Published by the BONNE TERRE REGISTER, Bonne Terre, St. Francois Co. MO, Fri. Sept. 1, 1905.
