JOHN S. CLAY (Democrat), of Farmington, St. Francois county, is a native Missourian, being born August 28, 1859, in St. Francois county; received his education if public schools and Carleton College; probate judge of St. Francois county twelve years; member of the Christian church and of the Modern Woodmen of America; elected State Senator in 1898. Lawyer; married.
