The first Church of God in Esther was oganized in the early 1930's.  According to the book St. Francois County Looking Back by David Darnell, the first church building, which was located across the Koen Creek Bridge in Esther, Missouri, was used as a tavern before being converted into a church.  A beautiful granite church building (pictured below) was dedicated at this same location in 1935, and still exists today.  As of November, 2003, approximately 70-85 people attend church there each Sunday.
