CONSTABLE ARRESTED AT CHARIVARI PARTY
BY LIEUT. STAFFORD

Constable Bruce Moyer of Desloge spent Wednesday night in the military guard house at St. Francois. He had been one of a party who were engaged in charivaring Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lutman who were married Thursday of last week. In order to add to the general noise of the occasion the constable discharged his revolver. This attracted the attention of Lieut. Stafford and a squad of several soldiers. The constable is reported to have struck the lieutenant, but when a persuader in the shape of a 45 Colts was turned menancingly upon him he decided to submit to arrest peaceably. He was released from the guard house Thursday morning.
