Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints

The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has its world headquarters in Independence, Missouri. The Bismarck Mission moved from the Eastern Branch in 1949 to the Bismarck area.

Elder Marvin Williams was pastor for 15 years, from 1949 to 1964, when services were held in the old Union Church on Cedar Street.

Elder Cleave Parker was pastor from 1964 to 1966. The Mission purchased a home across the street from the old Union Church and remodeled it and converted it into a church, moving into the building in 1965.

Elder Lawrence Watson, the present pastor, came to the church in 1965. Kenneth Connelly and Joseph Russell are his Councilors.

THE SIGN OF A GOOD TOWN -- BISMARCK, MISSOURI CENTENNIAL 1868-1968. Compiled by 'The Tuesday Club' of Bismarck. Edited by George W. Showalter. Published by The Independent-Journal Print, Potosi, Mo., July 1968.
