Ralph Moore served as a Sgt. T/4 in the U.S. Army Headquarters Company 159th Infantry Regiment in the Asiatic Pacific and Aleutian Islands.

"I was inducted into service at Jefferson Barracks January 1942."

"From there I was sent to Camp Wolters in Mineral Wells, Texas, where I received my basic training.

"The war continued to escalate and I was sent to San Luis Obispo, Calif., where I joined the 7th Motorized Infantry Division.  We maneuvered on the Mojave Desert and received specialized training to go to Africa, but with the war raging in the Pacific, our orders were changed and we were sent to Fort Ord, Calif. for deportation to the Aleutian Islands.  We arrived there May 1943.  I was stationed on the Island of Attu until April 1945, at which time I was sent back to the states for a 45 days furlough.

"During my furlough time at home, the war ended in Europe and I was sent to Fort Sam Houston Base in San Antonio, Texas, where I was mustered out in December 1945."
