Russell Monie of 120 Buckley, Park Hills was a member of the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946.

He took his basic training in Farragut, Id.  He attended Aircraft Electrician School at Jacksonville, Fla.  Served on PB4Y Sea Planes in North Island, San Diego, Ca.

In March of 1946 he was assigned to the USS Cumberland Sound.  He was discharged in May of 1946.
