FOREIGNER MEETS DEATH

Tuesday afternoon of this week Charles Hratko, a foreigner working under ground at No. 1 shaft, was killed by falling off a bluff in the mines. His skull was smashed and his wrists broken.

He and others had just fired some holes when Hratki had gone back to the bluff for his dinner bucket. He missed his footing.

A coroner's inquest was held and he was buried Thursday morning. He had been working here 16 years.
