E. F. BOYER KILLED BY FALLING ROCK    

     According to death certificate for Ed Boyer, his name is shown as E. F. Boyer.   He was born March 16, 1869, son of Felix Boyer and Mary J. Pullim (or Pullam) Boyer, and died December 22, 1911, as a result of being killed by falling rock in the mines.  At time of death, he was aged 42 years, 8 months and 28 days.   We don't have the article concerning Mr. Boyer's death, however, mention of it was made in his late wife's obituary, which is as follows:

SARA J. BOYER POORMAN

Sara J. Boyer Poorman, daughter of the late Mack and Mary May Tullock, was born December 13, 1870, near French Village, and passed away at the Farmington Hospital on September 14, 1948, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 1 day.

She had been a resident of Flat River since 1911 until a few weeks before her death.

On August 19, 1889, she was united in marriage to Ed Boyer who was killed in a mine accident on December 21, 1911*.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, age 5 years, and a son, Russell, who was 43 years of age. 

She is survived by two children:  Mabel Boyer Jordon and Waldo Boyer, of Fort Costa (?), Calif., also by several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hood Chapel, conducted by Rev. Powhatten Huffman, pastor of the Assembly of God Church.  Interment was in the Charter Cemetery near DeSoto.       

*Death certificate has date of death as December 22, 1911.
