HOWARD SIMINO KILLED IN ST. JOE ACCIDENT

Howard R. Simino of Rivermines was killed last Thursday morning, July 6 [1967], at 7:00 o'clock, when he fell about 40 or 45 feet from the man cage in the No. 17 Federal Division shaft.

St. Joe representatives stated that it was apparent that the gates on the cage were not properly closed and Simino fell off.  The brakes for the cage work automatically and stopped as soon as the gate was opened.

Simino was a skip loader and was on his way down when the accident occurred.
