BOYS NEARLY WRECK BULL MOOSE TRAIN
The Bonne Terre Register, Sept. 5, 1913

Two young boys, Hobart aged 12 and William 14, sons of James Robinson living between Bonne Terre and Desloge almost succeeded in wrecking a passenger train on the curve just north of Big River between Bonne Terre and Desloge last Friday afternoon.  The boys balanced a large steel rail so that they were able to "teeter" it around until it lay across the track.  The Bonne Terre-Elvins train, going south in the afternoon, ran on to the rail and through good fortune the obstruction was knocked from the track.  Owing to the sharp curve at that place the engineer failed to see the rail.

Emmett Justice was put on the case and Thursday afternoon brought into the office Supt. Young the two boys, with their father.  The father had helped Mr. Justice get a confession out of the boys who stoutly denied it for a long time.  Supt. Young, taking into consideration the youth of the two boys, dismissed them after a very fatherly talk in which he pointed out the seriousness of the charge and the punishment for such things.  The boys very likely gave little thought of what they were doing.

The work of Mr. Justice in getting the culprits may save the boys from doing worse at some other time and also demonstrates his ability in getting at the bottom of mischief on short notice.
