GOVREAU'S CELEBRATE 50TH

Bob and Mary Lou Govreau's 50th wedding anniversary was on June 23, 2006. They celebrated with their children, grandchildren family, and friends on June 17 by renewing their wedding vows in a special mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farmington.

Father Rickey Valleroy officiated, along with Deacon Al Gegg. Two of the Govreau's grandchildren, Kevin and Derek Dittlinger, served the mass. Following the mass was a reception held in the gym. It was catered by Plank Road Inn and Dian Harrington baked the three-tier cake. Jane and Jim Klinkhardt, Mary Lou Brady and the Govreau's daughters and grandsons provided the decorations.

Mrs. Govreau's original wedding dress was on display as well as many family photos that led guests down memory lane over the last 50 years. The couple was presented with a framed certificate from the Pope recognizing their 50 years of marriage.

The Govreau's have three daughters: Kathy (Mrs. Larry Ranney), of Little Rock, Arkansas; Karen Wright of Farmington and Diane (Mrs. Greg Dittlinger) of Benton, Missouri. They also have five grandsons: Andrew and Brian Cox of Little Rock, Arkansas; Justin Wright of Farmington and Kevin and Derek Dittlinger of Benton, Missouri.

Mr. Govreau is retired from the Missouri State Highway Department and Mrs. Govreau is retired from Mercantile Bank (now US Bank). The couple wishes to extend their thanks and deep appreciation to everyone that helped them celebrate their special day.
