Graduates Looking Forward to Summer

FRANKCLAY -- With graduation behind them, most West County graduates are
looking forward to summer and their futures.
As John Roney Jr., Amanda Sansoucie and Paula Holder stood in the hallway of their high
school for possibly the last time, Roney said they hope to take some time off to relax in
Florida during summer vacation. Sansoucie said she plans to go to college -- but that's
not until next year.
Roney, Sansoucie and Holder were just three of 59 West County seniors graduating Friday
night.
The graduation was held at 7 p.m. in the new high school's auditorium-gymnasium.
High School Principal Eric Moyers welcomed parents, friends and family members to
commencement exercises.
Twelve National Honor Society members, 15 recipients of College Preparatory Certificates,
and many scholarship recipients were recognized during commencement exercises.
Valedictorian Heather Lawson and Salutatorian Stacy Lewis addressed the class before
Superintendent Stacy Stevens, High School Principal Eric Moyers, and School Board
President James Rasnick jointly presented graduation certificates.
