BENJAMIN E. CARUTHERS

BENJAMIN E. CARUTHERS , Republican, Representative from St. Francois County; born October 10, 1887, at Yount, Mo.; educated at Southeast Missouri Teachers College at Cape Girardeau, where he played football and was a member of the glee club and band.

He was married October 24, 1912, at Perryville, Mo., to Miss Auroa Beatrice Cashion,   who died April 22, 1934. He has two children, Lester and Vera. He is a farmer and resides at Farmington, where he has been farm manager and assistant to the Superintendent of the Presbyterian Orphanage the last nine years. He has been a life-long Republican, having served four years as a member of the Perry County Republican Central Committee, which is the county of his birth. Elected to the House of Representives in 1938, he served in the 60th General Assembly on the following committees: Children's Code; Employees and Clerical Force; Bills Agreed To and Finally Passed.
