WOMAN MORE THAN CENTURY OLD DIES IN LEADWOOD

Mrs. Lucinda Hobbs died at the home of her son-in-law in Leadwood last Saturday night at the age of 100 years, 10 months.

She was born August 13, 1812 (a little more than a year before Commodore Perry destroyed the English fleet on Lake Erie), where the town of Elvins now stands. She was 8 years old when Missouri became a state and was 49 years old when the civil war broke out.

In 1831 she married David Murphy, who died in 1834. In 1856 she married Vince Hobbs. She leaves one child, Mrs. M. N. Mathews.
