The Circuit Court will wind up thir May term today, Friday. The jury was finally
dismissed last Saturday, June 2nd, and this week [????] been given over to the hearing of
divorce cases and equity suits.
In the five cases of the State vs. Alton Craft, Bonne Terre youth accused of a
multitude of crimes, the bond forfeiture ordered at the February term of Court was ordered
set aside. At that time young Craft was at large, some place in Texas, and could not be
produced by his bondsmen upon the order of the court. However, Craft was apprehended
recently and placed under arrest. He was brought before the Court and sentenced to the
Reform School and was taken to that institution last Friday, June 1st. John H. Craft,
father of the boy, paid the costs.
Other causes disposed of follow:
Rosie McCarver vs. St. Joseph Lead Co., damages; tried by jury and verdict for
plaintiff in the sum of $5,000.
L. L. Ketcherside vs. C. I. Garrett, appeal J.P.; tried by jury and verdict for
plaintiff for the sum of $41.04.
Hiram L. Fleming vs. Minnie Fleming, divorce; tried by the court.
State of Mo. ex rel W. E. Coffer vs. Tom Baker, injunction; citation ordered issued.
Della Umfleet vs. Clarence Umfleet, divorce; tried by the court.
State of Mo. vs. Agnes Simmons, assault with intent to kill; plea of guilty to common
assault, fine $100; upon payment of cost fine stayed upon good behavior.
Following cases dismissed by the State:
State vs. Dan Bandy, carrying concealed weapon.
State vs. Jeff Bunch, illegal sale of whiskey.
State vs. Mart Swinford, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
State vs. J. D. Brown, receiving stolen goods.
State vs. Earl Gordon, flourishing deadly weapon.
