Clifford E. Detring of Farmington,
served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Infantry with the 8th Army, 158th Regimental Combat
Team in the Pacific. Caroline E. Detring explains: "While occupying Japan, his detail
unloaded ships, carrying 50 gallon drums of airplane gasoline. Drums were reloaded onto other ships and gasoline
sent to Korea in readiness for that war." |
