VETERAN KILLED IN AUTO MISHAP

Edward Missey, an ex-service man, was killed at Desoto Saturday when the automobile which he was driving ran off the road and fell into the Joachim river. Missey was bringing Miss Overall of Farmington, who is teacher in the Valley Mines school, to DeSoto and at the corner of East Miller street and Mill Race road, his car left the road and fell down the embankment. Miss Overall received only minor injuries and bruises but Missey struck the steering wheel and crushed his chest. Missey served in the World War and was noted as being the fourth tallest man in the American army, being six feet, eleven inches in height.
