Mrs. Carrie Eddington of Leadwood,
received a message Wednesday, August 2nd, from the War Department, conveying news of the
death of her son, Pfc. Farrell Eddington, in Italy on July 27th. He had previously been
reported missing in action. |
Pfc. Eddington had been
serving with the Infantry since going overseas in March. The last letter received from him
was dated June 25th. He was born and reared in Leadwood and enlisted in the U.S. Army on
February 15, 1941. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Helen Cash and a five-month-old daughter, Peggy Arlene, whom he had never seen. They reside with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cash in Bonne Terre. A sister, Pvt. Marie Eddington, is serving in the Air Force of the WAC and is stationed at Tampa, Fla. Other relatives include two brothers, Roland and Richard Glen of Leadwood and sisters, Marian (Mrs. Cordell) Smart of Crewe, Va.; Dorothy (Mrs. Willard) Stanley of Beaver, Pa.; and Mrs. Sidney Osman of Los Angeles, Calif.
