Darrell Ragsdale, Farmington, was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during   World War II, serving in the Regimental Weapons Company, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.  He served inthe States, New Zealand, Tarawa, Gilbert Island, Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, Hawaii and Japan.  He enlisted Sept. 1, 1942 and was discharged Dec. 8, 1945.  He served 33 of his 39 months in the Marines overseas.
