One of the prettiest weddings of the season was solemnized at the First Christian Church in Bonne Terre Saturday evening, Sept 2, when when June Pratte became the bride of Billie Hall in a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Harry Baker Adams. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pratte of Bonne Terre and the groom is the only son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Burks of Farmington.

The altar was decorated with greenery and white satin ribbon and large baskets of white flowers were arranged at either side of the altar. Ivy entwined the candelabra and the tapers were lighted by ushers Lee Cash and Park Ridgeway.

Preceding the ceremony Mr. Norma Kohler played appropriate wedding music and accompanied Miss Mary Lou Rogers who sang "Because " and "I Love You Truly".

The bride was preceded down the white carpeted aisle by Miss Sally Pratte, maid of honor; three bridesmaids, Mrs. Russell Pigg, Miss Norma Green and Miss Deon Tyler, Martha Sue DeClue, flower girl and Alvin Schmidt, Jr., ring bearer. The attendants were gowned in satin fashioned alike dresses; the maid of honor in strawberry, Mrs. Pigg, orchid, Miss Green, yellow and Miss Tyler, green. They wore matching picture hats and elbow length gloves.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in ice blue satin, designed with portrait neckline, stand-up collar, fitted bodice and bracelet length sleeves. Inverted pleats in the full skirt extended into a long train. Her finger-tip length veil was secured to a rhinestone and pearl tiara and she carried a fan of lace and satin adorned with a white orchid.

The bride attended the Bonne Terre Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1949. She is employed as a switchboard operator for the Southeast Missouri Telephone Company at the Bonne Terre Office.
