Frank Emil Marchand was born at St. Clair in Franklin County, Missouri, on November 29, 1881,  the son of Louis and Matilda (Straub) Marchand.   Frank moved to Bonne Terre with his parents when he was 8 years old and spent the rest of his life in the Bonne Terre area.   Frank never married, but still managed to live a very full and useful life.   He was very devoted to his parents, community, and  church.  Please click HERE to review biographical sketch on Frank Marchand which was published in the Lead Belt News on July 1, 1965.  Frank died on  June 10, 1967, at the age of 85 years, and was buried on June 13, 1967, in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery which is located just North of  Bonne Terre, Missouri.

Frank Marchand in Bonne Terre Band Uniform. Note the letters BTB on his collar .  According to article published in the Bonne Terre STAR on Nov. 17, 1899, the band met and held their practices in the Marchand Saloon in Bonne Terre.

Another photo of Frank Marchand in Bonne Terre Brass Band Uniform with his instrument which appears to be a French horn.  This photo probably dates to 1899 or slightly later.

Other men unidentified.   Frank was the holder of two 50-year pins - one for the Third

Degree and one for the Fourth Degree.

The Diamond Drill Rig at the left is similar to the rigs which Frank Marchand operated in the vicinity of Bonne Terre when employed by the mines.
