Mr. W. W. McCURDY has been planting and trimming shade trees and otherwise improving his property.

The efforts of Mr. J. F. HINZE to get a county bridge over the St. Francois River is commendable, but whether or not successful the interest is increasing in the good road promised from here to Elvins. The three miles of rock road from here towards Elvins covers the worst gap, and makes probable a public highway over which there is a tremendous amount of travel. Speed the time when the good work commences.
