MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS FROM THE LEAD BELT NEWS
"Elvins Items" Column
Fri. Dec. 17, 1915

Deputy Constable Jasper THOMURE of Desloge attended official business in town Monday.

Mrs. M. A. LANGDON and daughter, Mrs. Sam DOSS of Desloge, spent Monday shopping in
St. Louis.

Murrill McHENRY, one of the foremen for the Farm department of the St. Louis Smelting
& Refining Co., of St. Francois, attended business here last Saturday afternoon.

Miss Joyce POSTON, who is teaching in the public school at Esther, spent Friday night
with relatives here before visiting her parents at Bonne Terre, Saturday and Sunday.

Only five more days until the last saloon in the county will close its doors for
good. Then the citizens will have a fair chance to find out the "blind tigers" and,
its our opinion that it will not take many days to open the blinded eyes and properly
punish the law breakers; and make our city a more congenial place in which to live.
