W. P. GIESSING, of Desloge, visited Leadwood in his car Monday. Mr. EATON, Bank Inspector, spent a few days in town last week. Miss Susie TUCKER and her little sister, Sarah, left Sunday for a few days visit in Bonne Terre. We are glad to report that Rev. J. W. BAYS and wife have recovered after several day's illness. For a few days, concluding with Sunday, Miss Gladys DOTSON has been visiting friends in Bonne Terre and Farmington. New Year's Day W. T. SCOTT accompanied his sister-in-law, Miss Ethel SIMMONS, as far as Riverside on her way home. While working Friday at Desloge No. 6 mine A. ROBARE had the misfortune to have a finger painfully bruised. It is getting along nicely. Miss Vallie DORRIS, who has been visiting at the home of her brother, Rev. C. L. DORRIS, left Tuesday afternoon for her home in Nashville, Tenn. Little Paul JOHNSON underwent an operation Friday at Farmington, an abscess having formed back of his ear in a dangerous location. For a time his condition was serious, but at the time of writing he is progressing favorably. Dr. O. A. SMITH performed the operation. Jesse O'NEIL was painfully injured Sunday evening when a Ford delivery truck turned over on Gumbo hill. He sustained a cut about five inches long on the right side of his head, and his shoulder was also severely bruised. He was returning from Desloge when the accident happened.
