fivedime.jpg (12895 bytes)

Barry Phillips, who has made his home in Flat River during the past three years, having been in the employ of the Doe Run Lead Co., has purchased the Variety Store, located in the Karsch building, and took possession Thursday of last week. Mr. Phillips made the purchase from T. P. Mathews and Frank Sigman, who had owned this business the past few years, with Mr. Mathews in charge.

Mr. Phillips was in the hardware business in Farmington for several years, up to five years ago when he sold out and moved to a farm east of Farmington, where the family resided until the time of their coming to Flat River.

For the present Mr. Phillips will continue his connection with the Doe Run Lead Co. Mrs. Phillips will be in charge of the business.
