F. I. TETLEY REAL ESTATE AND LUMBER CO.
DESTROYED BY FIRE
[Bonne Terre Register, Friday, Nov. 3, 1905]
All but one shed, the buildings and about
seven-eighths of the stock of the F. I. Tetley Real Estate and Lumber Co. were destroyed
by fire early last Tuesday morning. The alarm whistle was blown about 4:50 a.m. but
when discovered the flames had gained such headway as to be beyond immediate control.
Nearly $8,000 worth of property went up in smoke but the firm carried sufficient
insurance to reduce the net loss to about $2,000. President Tetley informs the
REGISTER that a new stock was at once ordered, that the Company's business will be
continued with very little interruption, and that all existing building contracts will be
carried out. The REGISTER deeply sympathizes with the enterprising firm in its
misfortune and wishes them the future success so richly deserved.
