NOTE
As anyone who has lived in St. Francois County for some time knows, the Kollmeyer family ran a very successful dairy business for many years.  If you're interested in finding out more about the Kollmeyer family and its history, Betty Simms Winter has rewritten and updated a Kollmeyer Family History book which was originally put together by Opalean Kollmeyer Chatman.  This wonderful book contains many pictures, newspaper articles, obituaries, etc. pertaining to the family.   Some (but not all) of the surnames connected with the Kollmeyer family are:  Chatman, Mell, Meyer, Rickus, Shinn, Thomas, Simms, Var Vera, Vince, Wampler, Winter, Williams, Zimmer, Gonz, Hopkins, Swink, Gibson, Clark, Currington,  and Yeargain.
