ACE RODGERS KILLED IN MINE ACCIDENT FRI. NIGHT


Ace Grover Rodgers, age 40 years, 11 months and 27 days, was instantly killed in No. 3 mines of the Doe Run Lead Co., last Friday night. Rodgers was a car spragger and in some way a mine car jumped the track and he was pinned between the car and the wall, breaking his neck.

He leaves to mourn his death a wife; 3 children, Gladys, 18; Ruben, 16; and Leonard, 14. He also leaves one brother, Earl of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Shanks of St. Louis and another whose name we could not secure of West Plains, Mo.; one half sister, Mrs. Claud Mather of St. Louis besides his mother and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday afternoon at the Elvins M.E. church by Rev. Kirkendoll and remains laid to rest in Parkview cemetery.
