FRANK WAMPLER DIES OF MINE INJURIES MONDAY

Frank Wampler, age 39, died at the Bonne Terre hospital Tuesday morning as the result of injuries he sustained while at work underground at Doe Run Lead Company shaft No. 2, Tuesday night about 8 o'clock. He was employed as a brakeman on one of the underground ore trains. He was riding on the rear of one of the motors and attempted to walk or climb around to the front of the motor. In doing so he was crushed between the wall of the mine and the motor. Immediately after the accident he was rushed to the hospital at Bonne Terre. He lived 15 hours after the accident occurred.
Mr. Wampler was married and is survived by his wife and three children. The family resided at Elvins. The funeral was held Thursday morning. The remains were shipped to the former home of the family at Knob Lick for burial. The funeral services at Knob Lick were conducted by the I.O.O.F. lodge, of which deceased had been a member.
