HERBERT H. WHITE


Herbert Henry White, better known as "Herb", of Elvins, was pensioned August 1 [1961] by St. Joseph Lead Company, after continuous employment since 1923. He was born in Bruno, Wayne County, Mo., but has lived in the Lead Belt since 1923.

He was married on September 6, 1920, to Florence Woods, and their family consists of two daughters and four sons: Mae (Mrs. Paul Benton), lives on Route 1, Elvins; Claude, Helen (Mrs. Mac McClure), Samuel and Daniel, all reside in St. Louis; and Bobby Neal lives in the home. There are nine grandchildren.

Mr. White spent his years of service in Rivermines Mines 1,3 and 8, as loader, trackman, driver and handyman. He has no hobbies and plans to rest and recuperate from a recent illness.
