MELVIN HEDRICK KILLED
MONDAY IN MINE ACCIDENT

     Melvin Hedrick, 46, was killed on Monday, October 6, 1958, while at work at Federal Mine No. 8 of St. Joseph Lead Company. He was employed as trackman and his body was found at 3:30 p.m. lying beside an overturned tractor at the base of a ten foot bluff. Hedrick was last seen 45 minutes earlier but there were no witnesses to the accident. He had worked for the Company 16 years.

     He was born at Bixby, Mo., on June 9, 1912. Surviving are his wife, Goldie, and four children: Earl and Winford Hedrick, Mrs. Earline Owens and Mrs. Delana Chandler, all of Bismarck.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, at the Community Church, Boss, Mo., with interment in the Boss Cemetery. Shipman & Sons Funeral Service.
