ALBUM #2
The photos below were submitted by Ruth Carver. They came from the collection of Lillie Wilfong-Carver of the Bonne Terre, Missouri area. They could either be on the Wilfong side of family or Carver side. Lillie was daughter of Miss Gertie Duncan who married James Henry Wilfong on July 3, 1910.
Can anyone identify this old church or school house for Ruth? |
This photo is marked simply "Guess Who" on the back. |
Ruth believes that this unmarked photo was taken the same day as the the group picture that appears below. The smaller girls appear to be the same girls on the front row in the group picture below. Also, there are a couple of girls in white dresses (with backs to camera) eating on porch below which appear to be these same two girls since they have on white dresses and their bowl-cut hairstyles are definitely the same. They are obviously sisters (maybe even twins). |
The group picture by the barn above is labeled on the back "the crowd of relatives the 4th". The back of the picture of the people eating on the porch is marked "the 4th at eating time". Obviously a July 4th get-together. |
The picture of the family of 4 sitting on porch above is marked "at Home June 15-1924" on the back. The woman on the right in the porch picture appears to "possibly" be same woman on right end of front row in the group picture by barn above. The photo of the man, girl/woman and dog in front of barn is unmarked, but the girl/woman appears to "possibly" be the one of women in group picture by barn above. The man coming out of barn appears to have same hat and is similar in looks to man on back row, second from right, in group picture by barn above. |
