Update: Received information that this photo was possibly taken at Christian Church in Flat River.

ALBUM #1:   The photos in this album were submitted by Ruth Carver.  Most of these pictures were taken in and around the Bonne Terre area.   Ruth believes these photos most probably have a connection to her family but she doesn't know exactly what it is.  Most of these photos came from the collection of Ruth's mother-in-law Lillie Wilfong Carver of Bonne Terre.  If you can help her out, please e-mail her by clicking on her name above.

ALBUM #2The photos in this album were also submitted byRuth Carver, and came from the collection of Ruth's mother-in-law, Lillie Wilfong Carver of Bonne Terre.  She hopes someone can help her out with these pictures.  She believes they were taken around the Bonne Terre area, and probably have a connection to her family.  If you can help her out, please e-mail her by clicking on her name above.

ALBUM #3:   The  photos in this album were submitted by Diana Cole.  She believes the woman in the pictures is Lora  Robbins Nash (wife of Thomas Preston Nash), but wants to know for sure.  Lora was daughter of Samuel Robbins and Margaret Elizabeth Lydia Costephens and was orphaned at 14 years of age.  Diana would like to know more about the NASH, ROBBINS & COSTEPHENS families of St. Francois County, Missouri.

ALBUM #4:  This album contains a large undated and unmarked photo of a group of  five men.  The photo was submitted to us by Nedra Queen of Leadwood, Missouri.  The photo was apparently in the top of a closet in a house in the Bonne Terre area and overlooked for many years.  It was discovered when the family was moving out of the house.  Any help in identifying these men would be greatly appreciated.

ALBUM #5: This collection of old tin-type photos was submitted to us by Mary Sandra (Meyers) Daugherty.  They were found among the effects of Gilbert Meyers and Edna (nee Revelle) Meyers who lived most of their lives in and around the Elvins area, but are descended from families in Madison County.  Please take a look and see if you can help Mary Sandra out.

ALBUM #6:  These 13 photographs were submitted by Nancy Apple.  They were all taken at studios in and around St. Francois County and were found on the farm of Edward and Stella (Cruncleton) McCullough.  Nancy believes these photos are from the following families: Turley, Cruncleton, and/or McCullough.  Here are some more photos submitted by Nancy which aren't contained in the Album (but are probably related to the the same family):  Photo of girl/young woman taken by Kahn's Studio in Farmington; Photo of boy/young man taken by Kahn's Studio in Farmington.   They may be brother and sister.

ALBUM #7These Snyder family reunion photos (circa 1950) were submitted by Sharon Hartzell Smith.  The individuals in the photos are most probably all descendants (and spouses) of children of Barry Lansdom Snyder and Melissa (Cook) Snyder.  Any help in identifying the various individuals in these group photos would be appreciated.  Click Sharon's name above to send her an e-mail if you recognize anyone.

ALBUM #8:  These eight photos were submitted by Cathy Hill.  She believes that the people in these photos are related to the Moore and/or Hamm family who resided in the Libertyville / Womack area of St. Francois County, Missouri.  Any help in identifying any of these individuals would be appreciated.  Click Cathy's name above to send her an e-mail if you recognize anyone.

ALBUM #9:  This group of 13 photographs was contributed by Sharon Hackworth.  Sharon received the photos from someone who said they got them in a box at an auction held here in St. Francois County.  There are only three photographs which have names.  Those names are as follows:  Buddy Renfro, Jesse Hallen, and Geneve McMullin.

ALBUM #10:  This group of photos was contributed by Dean Denton.  Any help in identifying any of the individuals in these photos would be appreciated.

ALBUM #11:  This group of 22 unidentified photos was contributed by Nancy [House] Barron.  It is believed they may be relatives or descendants of Adam House who lived in and around St. Francois County and Washington County, Missouri.   Any help in identifying the individuals in these photos would be appreciated.

MISCELLANEOUS MYSTERY PHOTOS

Photo #1 - This group photo was submitted by Joyce "Nash" Wafford.   Joyce advises that this photo was in a trunk belonging to her Grandmother Alice (Sutton) Nash which was given to her father, Alfred F. Nash, by his father, Jesse Clayborn Nash, before he passed away in Ironton, Iron County, Missouri in the 1940's.  Joyce advises that Jesse Clayborn Nash was the son of Claiborne "Clabe" and Amanda "Mandy" Nash of Big River and Bonne Terre areas of St. Francois County, Missouri.   The only thing she knows is that the photo is of NASH family members.  She has been told that the girl seated on the left "looks" like Gilly Ann (Patterson) Nash, but Joyce has no confirmation of this.  Gilly Ann (Patterson) Nash was the wife of Johnson Nash.  She died in St. Francois County in March 1946 and is buried in the Iron Mountain Cemetery.  Joyce knows that there are NASH, KETCHERSIDE, MOSES, AND DOGGETT family members who all lived in St. Francois County, along with many other related surnames.  Joyce is hoping that someone will recognize this picture and be able to provide her with names of all or any of the persons in the photo.  If you can help Joyce, please click on her name above to send her an e-mail.

Photo #2 - This photo was found by Bonnie Barron in a box of photos.  It is labeled "J. J. Hammer 's Molasses Factory, Oct. 8, 1912".  Inscription on photo reads "To my sweetheart Kenny G. Hammer".  Kenny is written on man standing in front.  Does anyone know where this Hammer's Molasses Factory was located, or who Kenny G. Hammer's sweetheart may have been?

Photo #3 - The man in this photo submitted by Heather Bolin is identified as Willis Pryor.     Heather advises that he appears in quite a few photos posing with her grandfather in some photos and her great aunts in some photos.  Henry Washington Bolin and Carrie Lee (Hoy) Bolin appear to have been divorced in 1923 so perhaps this is a "friend" of Carrie's, but Heather's not sure.  The back of the photo reads:   "Willis Pryor, Friend of Family Taken about 1929 in front of his 1928 Buick".  If you know what, if any, connection this man has to the Bolin/Hoy family, please e-mail Heather by clicking on her name above.  Thank you.

Photo #4 -  This photo was submitted by Lori Ward.  She advises that her grandmother gave her this photo of Eliza "Anna" Crawford with a man she believed to be Anna's second husband.  Lori advises that Anna married her first husband, David Emory Hanes, in 1885.  He died in 1922.  Can anyone help Lori's family identify who the mystery man in this photo is?  If so, please e-mail Lori by clicking on her name above.  Thank you.

Photo #5 - I believe this farm may have been located in or around Farmington, Missouri.  It was on the backside of a clipping I had from a Farmington newspaper.  If anyone recognizes this farm, please e-mail me.  Thanks!

Photo #6 - This mystery confirmation photo was submitted by Ruth Carver.  Since the children appear to be posing on the front steps of the St. Joseph Catholic School in Bonne Terre, we assume this was a confirmation class with St. Joseph's Catholic Church also located in Bonne Terre.  Ruth advises that this photo was found in the back of an old roll top desk which her grandfather purchased sometime in the 1940s from Steinbeck Publishing Company, printers and publishers of the Star-News Register newspaper of Bonne Terre, Missouri.   Written on the back of photo:  "4 in. wide / 100 line Marshall N."; also "67DQ 9-9".  The photo was found this year (2006) when Ruth's brother took the desk apart for refinishing.  Ruth would like to know the date this photo was taken and the names of the students.  If you can help, please click Ruth's name above and send her an e-mail.  Thanks!  UPDATE:    Ruth advises us that this photo was identified by Bonnie Barron.  It was a First Communion photo at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, taken about 1938-40.   Front row, first on left, is Donald Koester.  Back row, fifth from left, is Gene Pettus who was killed in the Korean War.  We still need to identify the others in this photo.  FUTHER UPDATE:   Ruth has received information that this First Communion picture was taken in the Spring of 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre.  Identifications have been received from Donald Vargo as follows:  Front row LtoR:  Cecil Koester, Jim Marler, Molly Carrow, Frank Welch, Elizabeth "Monkey" Bisch, Tom Gaffney and Claude Stotler.   Back row LtoR:  Jack Weber, Owen Cedarburg, Jim Ancy, Unknown, Donald Vargo, Firman Pettus, Leroy Woods and Unknown.
